What is the The Meaning of ” Locksmith?”

“Locksmith” as it’s name implies,is the assembly and designing of locks and their respective keys. Historically, locksmiths actually made the entire lock, working for hours, hand cutting screws and doing alot of file work! Today, with the rise of mass production, means that this type of locksmithing is no longer necessary. Some locksmiths are engineers and capable of sophisticated repairs, but  the majority of locks are repaired by replacing parts.
